As a traveler, this small eatery makes me feel plugged right into the local culture, unlike the other trendy cafes and bars that line the street of Shimokitazawa. It’s a small eatery that sits only 5 people at once, and the chef is a very old man who moves with such skill and familiarity at his wok. Somehow, I found myself enthralled by his movements as he prepared each order. We ordered the Katsu Curry and Omurice, which were delicious! While the katsu wasn’t thick, it was fragrant and crispy and we appreciated that it felt light despite being deep fried! The omurice had a good egg to rice ratio, with small cubes of chicken and onions in it :> Definitely recommended for those looking for a different experience at Shimokitazawa. The food was great value for money too!

The servings are generous and the taste was authentic, well balanced, and you can tell that it was made with care but at an affordable cost. Been in other curry places but this one really was a nostalgic trip down memory lane. If you're looking for that local flavor, look no further.
