I know now that this can be a controversial kind of place. From what I observed, these beautiful creatures are well cared for and we were monitored closely and maintained distance when asked. I guess though that there is no way to know from just a visit. That said, owner was very helpful even with limited English. Requests on how to respect the birds are written out in English for non Japanese speakers. We reserved our time over the phone. Found parking nearby at the bus station, 5 minute walk at most. No food or drink offered here.

It is a reservation-only shop. I could feel the love of the staff for owls as the staff carefully explained them one by one!! It is recommended for those who like owls with a wide range from large individuals to small individuals.

Just looking at it is soothing. The shop's idol [Fuku-chan] has clear eyes and is really cute. [Shiro-chan] is also the best. I went there for the first time in a while, and it cost 1500 yen without drinks. (Video shooting is not permitted) I think it is better to make reservations and confirm by phone in advance.
