I found this as an excellent idea for a café/bar in Tokyo. If you go during weekdays there’s no need to book before 6 (the place is not that crowded then) and you only pay 1000 yen to stay as much as you want until 6pm - includes a drink. It was very fun and they have plenty of choices of games.

Jelly jelly cafe is a fantastic space to hang out in nishishinjuku. We love to come here on a weekday and play boardgames. There are tonnes of games to choose from and plenty either have English instructions or you can find English instructions online. You can bring your own food in but buy all your drinks from the cafe/bar - they serve soft drinks and alcoholic mixes too. Staff don't speak much English but are very friendly and are happy to have you. Definitely check one of their venues out!
