A beautiful time capsule to the early 70’s with delicious coffee from around the world, seaweed toast that’s quite delicious, “American toast” with perfectly half melted slices of butter and sprinkles of sugar and cinnamon, and coffee jello that was oh so satisfying. Not gunna hide it, I’m in love with this place! Started in August of 1971.

Lucky to have stumbled upon this wonderful time capsule of a 1970s coffee shop. Little has changed since it first opened - and all the better for it. The nori toast doesn’t disappoint, but really, you can’t be disappointed with anything when you’re sitting in and soaking up these retro environs.

If you’re struggling to find a good, independently-run spot for breakfast, this is worth checking out. Cheap breakfast sets (I got the nori toast) and good coffee. No one seems to talk in there, though.
