More Comments at Google MapGreat restaurant. They have amazing hot dogs. I tried their スズキデンキの味 (Suzuki Denki Dog), with onions, edamame, lettuce and a delicious sauce. It comes with mashed potatoes, egg and dried bonito you have to mix. It was delicious. It costed ¥1,250 and it was worth it. The atmosphere is quite nostalgic, with Shōwa era vibes (toys and merch of anime shows of the 80s/90s, old cell phones, an arcade machine, a PlayStation 1, boomboxes, posters of movies and commercials…). There’s a zone of the restaurant that looks like a sentō, including the painting decorating the wall and buckets. It’s also a store, so you can purchase their nostalgic items (glasses, cups, keychains…). You get the menu at your table, but have to order at the cashier. You can pay with card.
This kitchy restaurant specializes in Shakes and hot dogs. Its showa era decoration is a mix of pop culture posters and toys, and sento-themed food containers, perhaps as a refference to this neighbourhood's famous ubiquitous public baths. Don't be fooled by the seemingly American food theme, though, SD coffee will certainly have the most japanese version of everything available on their Menu, like the shitamachi neighbourhood special, the Kita senju dog, which resembles a freshly made okonomiyaki much more than it does a hot dog.
A very eclectic place, full of memorabilia relating to baths and onsen, the food is really nice, but mainly it’s part of the atmosphere by the way it is served… the staff was very friendly even though the place was crowded… definitely a place I would recommend…
