They made their own udon which taste great with just the balance softness and chewy texture, soup is light but nice, tempura is crispy and big portion. For the price, it’s excellent!

Oniyanma Shimbashi (2023.03) Highly recommended when you want to eat tempura udon at a cheap price while traveling. The tempura is crispier than expected and the udon soup is delicious. It opens at 7am and is close to Shimbashi Station. The store is a short walk from the KFC store. You pay at a vending machine outside the store, walk in, and the chef makes your udon on the spot. You take your tray to a table and eat it standing up. (It's standing room only). On a weekday morning, there are few tourists, all local office workers. Luggage is stored in baskets on the floor. After eating, you return your utensils to the other side of the entrance and leave. Hot tempura udon noodles 580 yen (second menu to the left of the vending machine) Some customers order tempura separately. This is a favorite udon restaurant for locals, so the staff speaks only Japanese. The meal rotation is very fast, so it took me about 20 minutes to eat.

Great food, fast service, good prices. Note that it is a standing restaurant and you order outside with the machine first.
