If you happen to be in the area to visit one of the best Tokyo onsen, Niwa no Yu, I suggest making this spot your lunch of a choice. I regard this as the best soba in Tokyo, and do occasionally venture out to Nerima pretty much only to visit this place. This tiny shop has a bit of a forced retro vibe, but it’s done very well - so no complaints here. All the soba, hot and cold varieties, is very delicious. The broth is flavorful and pleasantly refreshing, so even heavier dishes go easy on the stomach. In winter I really enjoy Agemochi soba, - soba with fried mochi, - and in summer any of the cold varieties are lovely. Soba being soba, it’s a bit hard to pinpoint exactly WHY this place is so good, - soba is a rather unassuming dish, - but it’s just an all-round lovely and delicious place with a great price point.
