This small tempura shop is a gem. It’s manned by one chef, and he fries each tempura beautifully. We were able to slide in at opening, but I’d recommend making a reservation if you can since he can only take maybe 6 guests at a time. The ambiance was peaceful, and he was welcoming. There isn’t an English menu, but we were able to get by with the language barrier. Since we went during the weekend, we ordered the light and standard tempura set. Each piece of tempura was light, airy, and perfectly crisp. This was one of our favorite meals in Tokyo, and probably our best tempura meal yet.

This place is perfect. Me and my friend were visiting asakusa and found casually this restaurant. The food was perfect, the sake too. The chef is a really sweet person and you can see that he loves cooking, the process is like a show and you don't even need to talk. Just Watch and enjoy. If you can it is better to reserve the seats since he has only 6 chairs.

Incredible tempura! This restaurant is the real deal — it’s counter-style with only 6 or so seats, and the owner/chef is the only employee. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our lunch here — the tempura was perfectly crisp, and delicately battered. Definitely worth a visit if nearby Asakusa
