More Comments at Google MapFirst Ramen restaurant I visited on my recent adventure to Japan. Service was good and the soup was excellent. Broth very tasty and the pork and noodles very tender etc. Nice decore as well. Better than average. Recommended.
Many green onion. Pickled bamboo shorts was great.
I went to Kyoto Ginkakuji Masutani Ramen Muromachi branch by myself after 9:30pm on weekdays, which is about 2 minutes walk from JR Shin-Nihonbashi Station and about 3 minutes walk from JR Kanda Station. As I was walking down the street, I noticed that it was a bright, new and clean store, and the name Kyoto Ginkaku-ji caught my interest. If it's popular in historic Kyoto, it's definitely delicious. The big sign at the top said ramen with backfat chicken stock and soy sauce. This store seems to have opened in November 2020. First, purchase your ticket with cash from the vending machine in front of the store. Since I like eggs, I chose the soft-boiled egg ramen (medium) for 1,010 yen including tax. The origin of this restaurant was written at the entrance, and it seems that the founder had been running a Chinese soba stall near Ginkaku-ji Temple since around 1944. At first, there were no customers, so he secretly ate the soup and noodles left behind by the customers and studied them. Later, students from Kyoto University started to gather there, and he also had many discussions with the professor of the food department at Kyoto University to learn about the taste of ramen. It has evolved into a popular restaurant that is now visited by three generations of customers, including parents and children. The store was mostly empty, but after that, office workers started coming in one after another, and about three Western foreign tourists, male and female, showed interest and bought tickets from the vending machines. It seems to be a popular store. Enter the store and hand the ticket to the store staff. At that time, I was asked the following questions, so I asked for the firmness of the noodles, normal backfat, and a little spiciness. <Noodle hardness> ・Harden ·usually ・Soft <Amount of back fat> ・A lot ·usually ・Less ·none <Amount of spiciness (special flavor)> ・A lot ·usually ・Less ·none It was great that they also accommodated requests such as lighter flavor, no green onions, half the amount of noodles, etc. I could have added rice for free, but I decided against it. I sit at a bright counter seat, and I'm glad that there's a luggage compartment underneath. There was also a luggage compartment under the table and a box of tissues. The transparent glass windows are quite large and provide a good view of the street. I poured ice water from the pot in front of me and enjoyed the water. Meanwhile, the ramen was delivered in about 3 minutes ♪ So fast ♪ And I was very happy with the thin noodles like Hakata Nagahama Ramen! I ate it right away, and it was rich and delicious like tonkotsu ramen! Of course, the soup is piping hot and the thin noodles are delicious♪ The soft-boiled eggs are also melty and delicious♪ There are garlic and chili peppers on the table as toppings, so I added those and enjoyed the different flavors♪ The soup was so delicious that I drank it all♪ As expected, it is a popular store in Kyoto ♪ It seems that there is also this store in nearby Nihonbashi. Kyoto Ginkakuji Masutani Ramen is a very clean restaurant with delicious ramen, so I highly recommend it!
