Definitely one of my favourite restaurant experiences I had in Japan. Not just amazing food. This is what Japan stands for. Unique and very personal… this place is one of a kind. I could eat here every day…

Absolutely amazing. It was my first real night in Japan and the person at head of house helped me understand the menu and gave me recommendations. While I was waiting for my food I struck up a conversation with a couple that had been dining at the restaurant regularly for years. When the food came there was no wonder why, it was absolutely delicious and so much. When I went to pay at the end I didn't realize it was cash only. The head of house was more than understanding as I embarrassingly ran out to the nearest ATM leaving some of my personal belongings behind. When I got out and was looking up directions to said ATM one of the cooks came out to point me in the right way. It was so amazing. I could not recommend this place enough.

I was one of the 1st customers, alone, and therefore seated at the small table area. The person who greeted me seemed to be a senior staff member. The 1st thing he did was to ask me where I was from; thereafter they would speak to me in English and Mandarin. They made the effort to make me feel at home. I ordered the octopus kettle rice, and the rice and octopus were cooked just right. The sashimi moriawase was also great. Presentation was great. Overall, it was a relaxed, pleasant lunch experience.
