Line moves quickly Pay using a vending machine (insert money, then make your selections, tickets are printed, stand on the side until member of the staff requests your ticket). Staff will assign you a seat as they free up; you can sit at the first available seat or wait for seats to free up if you want to sit with your party. Dishes: special ramen 🍜 wonderful depth of flavour in the broth, served with pork and egg, Dipping noodles very rich broth with crustaceans notes, noodle served separate from broth. Overall delicious.

Amazing soba place. The soba itself is so chewy and so delicious. But we also like the side dishes such as toriten, for example. it was not greasy and so flavorful. Definitely worth a visit. Multiple visits even.

Fantastic fresh and handmade buckwheat soba - great meal and wonderful hospitality, hence the 5/5 rating! Don't let the non-English shop name deter you. Definately worth a visit especially if you're staying close by in Shinjuku. Atmosphere: You can get a seat here straight away and take time to enjoy your meal without the need to rush, which is a nice change from many of the busy restaurants in the Shinjuku area. This place is above a popular ramen joint (which we also tried and is a great experience!), so if you're not up for the wait at ramen, make sure to walk upstairs to try some soba! Language: when you walk in, they'll make sure you don't accidentally think you're going to the popular ramen shop downstairs, then will say their English is not great but they have an English menu. Note - their English is absolutely fine! To be polite I'd suggest learning your "thank you" (arigatogozimas) and "tasty" (oishi) so you can converse your thanks at the least. Menu: they have a set of soba (hot or cold) with tempura for around 1500 yen ($15 AUD) which we got. If you're vegetarian, they have vege tempura but like the rest of Japanese food, suprise suprise, the broth is made from fish. Worth coming just for the tempura though if you're up for a light snack! Soba was delicious and tempura was super tasty too. Came with some deep fried soba noodles. Try some sake - if you don't know which one to choose the staff will ask your preference of dry, smoothe or sweet and find a sake to suit your taste. around 900 yen ($9 AUD) between two people or 500 yen ($5 AUD) for one person.
