After visiting a local beer festival, I was craving some curry and Ponipirika delivered!!! The vegetables were crunchy and fresh—I recommend adding the mushrooms with cheese—the chicken was perfectly cooked and just fell from the bone; and the curry itself was spicy and delicious. Added bonus, the servers were super friendly and helpful!!

11/10 amazing food! I got the recommended chicken and vegetable curry soup with rice and melted cheese on top - free rice refills too! Really, really delicious!!! I was concerned that the curry might be spicy but you actually get to customise your order as per the yellow order form attached below. I’ve been in Japan for three weeks now and this is easily one of my favourite meals!!! Can’t recommend this place more! I’ll absolutely be back!

We went to Shimokitazawa for second hand clothes. And my sister noticed that there’s a very popular soup curry restaurant there. We had to try! There’s a long queue outside restaurant. We waited for 45 minutes to get inside. But it was worth waiting! As the dishes are perfect, both taste and outlook. We’d the shrimp soup curry. They had strong shrimp and curry flavours with a very good balance. Vegetables are very colourful and fresh. Sister’s crispy chicken is especially good. Mine’s chicken thigh is a bit dry. Next time I’ll try their 16-mix of vegetables.
