Toshima City, Tokyo, Japan｜Nihonshu bar Gui Gui

We went here on the recommendation of a YouTube channel called HarbLife. It was right in Ikebukuro and was in a building where the bar was located on the second floor. You have to look for the banner on the balcony of the bar to know you're at the right building. Lots of fun places to go into and you enter via the elevator of the building. The staff is very charismatic and helpful with your sake selection as they specialize in serving sake. The walls are lined with sake bottles, and the server chose two for us - one that was easy to drink and one that was sweet. This place does have a seat charge so you will get complimentary oden-type food at the beginning as a snack. We had a lot of fun and would recommend to anyone, especially those who are not sake connoisseurs and want to try new things.

Amazing friendly service, good to know some basic Japanese as staff speak very limited English. Great place to try a variety of sakes at a very reasonable price and excellent food to go along with it. Seemed to be only locals present, great for wanting to be an invisible tourist.

The staff was very nice,helpful and patient in explaining how the sake selection worked and their recommend sake was very good. Some Japanese is needed to communicate what you want correctly but Google translate will help you. This restaurant is on the second floor.
