Small shop by the Ueno station that was clean with wonderful staff and service. I got the set menu that consisted of katsudon and soba for 1,200 yen and my partner got the oyakudon (chicken) and soba. I thought the portion size was very generous. The katsudon was mildly salty, but paired well with the abundant rice. Great location for a quick lunch or dinner if you are staying close by.

After a week in tokyo I still think it's one of the best restaurants I've been to. They were nice and the menu is easy to understand. For the price it was very good.

Taito Ward is Ueno 7-chome. A short walk from the Iriya Exit of Ueno Station. We are a long-established soba restaurant. I'm going to have a little late lunch here while I'm unfashionable. I would like a large serving of draft beer and zaru soba. Cold draft beer in a frozen mug. Thanks to you, I'm in a good mood from Saturday afternoon. I'm going to go to zaru soba. The soba noodles, which are firm and have a sense of transparency, are slightly thin. It's supple and chewy, and has a smooth texture. The flavor of chopped seaweed is also good. Soba soup has a little sweetness. The thickness is moderate. Since there is a large amount, please soak plenty of soba noodles. If you add a little wasabi to the soba noodles, the taste will be very good. Finally, I received soba-yu, and it was a feast. The katsudon that the neighbor had was also attractive, but that's for next time. It is a wonderful shop that is very suitable for a light lunch.
