Toshima City, Tokyo, Japan｜kaki sake izkaya restaurant Shiki

We had no reservation but it was showing "call" instead of "fully booked" on their reservation site so walked in to see if we could try their oysters and they welcomed us with friendly smiles for a limited length of stay (90mins). I'd say 90mins can be too short if I went with my friends as some dishes take time to be served, but we wanted a quick dinner so it was perfect! We enjoyed all of the food especially the Omakase 10-piece set! 4 different kinds of oysters all over the cities in Japan and they were so delicious.😋 But, my #1 favorite was the grilled oyster set with 4 different sauce on them! Anchovy sauce was ok, basil sauce was good, Negi shoyu & Mentaiko butter were beyond our expectations.💯

Fresh oyster! The combo selected ones were kinda sweet. Oyster fry was also tasty. For oyster nabe (pot) I chose the miso flavor. Miso might be a bit strong that overwhelmed the taste of oysters. Would recommend fresh raw ones.

This is a seafood izakaya located in a building just a short walk from the Ikebukuro West Exit. Oysters seem to be the main dish, but there were many delicious dishes, so I ordered various things. As a result, no matter which one I ordered, it was really delicious and correct. Seafood is fresh and has no smell at all The meat was also plump. Of course, the oysters are large and the taste is solid, so the sake goes on. The inside of the store is a private room, so you don't have to worry about the eyes of the customers next to you, so you can relax and eat. There were many young shop assistants, but it was nice that everyone was able to deal with them. You can see why it's so popular, so I think it's best to make a reservation before visiting.
