Osaka, Japan｜Deepening Submarine Bar SHINKA

As everyone else said, it’s a secret bar, no advertising, no signs, only a small light on top of the sliding door that’s at the end of a narrow alley way. Its a small intimate space, the attention to detail will keep your eyes busy all night, the toilet is mesmerising. There was no music but the hum of an engine maybe? At first I was disappointed with the lack of music, but after a while, you begin to appreciate and immerse yourself in the silence. The gin and tonic was delicious, bartender was super polite, meticulous and the overall experience felt out of this world. Loved it!

What a cool bar!!! And, what a great barman!!! He doesn’t speak a lot of English but much, much more English than I speak Japanese. He is so welcoming, so friendly and he and the laid back , friendly environment make this place something special. If you have never been in a submarine before, you like a challenge of trying to find a hidden gem, then you have to give it a go. So much better than many of the mainstream bars.

Most incredible secret bar I’ve ever been to, the attention to detail was second to none. The barman was friendly and happy to serve us contrary to several reviews that state they do not serve to foreigners. It is a bit pricey but I think that is fair enough considering the attention to detail!
