More Comments at Google MapWe had a silver cod lunch in a wonderful space that made us forget the hustle and bustle. The shop is tucked away in a slightly narrow alley. It looks like you'll walk right past it if you don't pay attention to it. As you enter the entrance, where the sprinkling water gives a lustrous shine to the stone pavement, you can faintly hear Noh songs. The store was reminiscent of a Noh theater, and since I was alone, I was guided to the counter. The miso-stewed mackerel hot pot that simmers right in front of your eyes will whet your appetite. Although I was hesitant about the menu, I chose grilled cod. Because I was a woman and because I was wearing a suit, they gave me a napkin with a fan pattern. The first dish, chawanmushi, arrived within 5 minutes of being seated, and another 10 minutes later, the main dish arrived. It was so delicious that I had to order a second helping of rice. (There was no additional charge) For the final sweet, I chose kudzu cutlet. At lunchtime, many restaurants were busy due to turnover, so I enjoyed a calm meal. The miso soup with freshwater clams had been carefully removed from the sand, and the skin of the silver cod was grilled to a crisp that I, who don't usually like fish skin, enjoyed it.
I had lunch with Men for the first time in a while. You can choose from miso-simmered mackerel, grilled cod, or sashimi. A combination of fish and sashimi is also possible. I have only had mackerel stew in miso here. The miso is rich and very elegant. I fight against the urge to drink the broth at the end, but the restaurant is just as elegant as the taste, so I give up... The dessert shiruko was just the right amount and sweet. It was a feast. One of the fun things about this restaurant is that when you sit at the counter, you can watch the chef prepare the ingredients for the evening. Ah, I want to go there at night too.
We had lunch at the counter where the music of Noh music was playing quietly. The chawanmushi and silver dara were all delicious. The Gindara was fatty and very delicious. It also came with Kuzukiri, making it a blissful lunch.
