Kyoto, Japan｜Motsu-nabe Toraya

Was craving for Nabe in the cold weather. Thankfully I found one while shopping around in Gion area, Kyoto. They serve intestines Nabe (hotpot) it’s quite unique. The way they serve their appetisers is quite thoughtful in presentation. I enjoyed the exprience dining here. It’s a small and cosy restaurant. They do explain how you can eat the Nabe in different styles and sauces. They have many types of Ume (Plum Wine)… I ordered Ume Black (Osaka) on whisky base. (It’s good) You can end off your meal with carbs - Rice porridge, udon. But I was too full to have my udon. 😊

Superb restaurant! Traditional yet super delicious food, excellent service which one will never forget. Defo coming back again :) Make sure you come before 5pm if you havent made reservation otherwise you'll have to leave with disappoinment (that you can't even get in!).

Great place. Arrive early. Like at 4pm and wait for an hour. Sometimes the place is full at 4:20 meaning they are full for the first seating. Seating is one hour and forty five minutes. We had the motsu nabe. It was maybe one of the best meals I had. Hot pots are common this time of year. Check it out. Their side menus are pretty tasty. If your not adventurous maybe this restaurant is not for you. The. Pictured items are the rare beef tongue and raw hearts. Freaking delicious
