Kyoto, Japan｜Kushiichi

My wife and I wanted to escape the crowds around the city center and decided to scroll around Google Maps for a place that was a bit more local. What we didn't expect was to end up eating at one of the best kushiyaki restaurants we've ever been to! Every skewer was grilled perfectly, especially the squid and beef, and there were a ton of other side dishes that we ordered that were also extremely good. The staff were also very friendly and did their best to try and explain things despite no English menu. Highly recommended for people that want amazing kushiyaki with a friendly and cozy vibe that offers more authentic taste compared to what you'd find in the main tourist spots in Kyoto!

The best kushikachu restaurant. You have to go there and try it. You can meet Japanese couple, worker, friends, company staff. I saw them ordered cucumbers first, and fried potatoes, cream with crackers as well. There is no english menu but you can use translations app. My best option was chicken skin. But every menu has a great value.

Came here with a few friends while touring Kyoto, wagyu skewers were amazing, service was fantastic (staff tried their best despite our abhorrent lack of japanese), atmosphere was a 10/10, exactly what I would imagine when hearing “Kyoto”, would 100% come back
