It’s a nice restaurant, food is good. We ate duck udon. The menu is in both Japanese and English and easy guide.

A tiny restaurant in the middle of the residential area. There are a few tables. It's very warm inside during winter. The old lady is well-accustomed to foreigners. They have an english-japanese translation sheet so you'll have no problems ordering. The tempura they serve is the softest I had, even compared to other restaurants in Kyoto. Service is quick as well. Definitely a tourist-friendly spot. Just a few walks from Ryoan-ji Station. You can eat here if you're going to Arashiyama after visiting Ryoanji

Excellent family owned restaurant. The food was fresh, delicious and comforting. Very good price, 2 big udon bowls for 1100 yen
