Osaka, Japan｜Honmiyake

There was a queue at dinner time, but we just waited like 15 minutes. It seems to be popular among locals and tourists alike. We ordered one wagyu steak-jyu and one gyu-nabe, which were both delicious. I recommend to go for the wagyu (for the steak bowl), it was very marbled compared to the other beef, which just looked normal. The wagyu was truly melt-in-your mouth, some of the best beef we had in Japan. We had Kobe beef in Kobe the day before and this was way better at half the cost. Better get some decent wagyu instead of cheap cut of overpriced Kobe beef. It was perfect and not overly fat. Staff was super friendly, professional and funny.

Great grill beef 🥩 rice bowl hidden under Umeda Station. Wagyu rice bowl is superb. Price is deemed valuable. Staff is friendly and attentive. Pretty hard to find if you are not familiar with Umeda station. First, look for "B2F Umeda Food Gourmet" located underground. Then, look for the small alley with Rest Room sign (see my photo). Hinomiyake is located in that small alley (look for the pink signage above each restaurant).

The Japanese beef was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. You can choose how much rice you want (small, medium, large). They also had Australian beef available for less but when in Japan - go for the Japanese beef! Will definitely go back the next time I'm in Osaka.
