More Comments at Google MapA Chinese restaurant near Hirano subway station. The shop name is ``Nakamuraya,'' but it is a restaurant that serves authentic Sichuan cuisine created by Chinese people. The inside of the restaurant, which also has raised seats, is reminiscent of a Japanese restaurant from the Showa era or something like that. The set meals start from 800 yen, which is quite reasonable, but since I was there, I took the plunge and ordered the special set meal, which includes mapo tofu and shrimp chili, which I think are the two major menu items. I ordered the mapo tofu on the spicy side, but it was quite generous, so it might not be enough for those who are super spicy enthusiasts. That said, it is quite delicious with a strong seasoning and just the right amount of crispness that is well balanced with the umami. The taste is easily on par with the popular Mapo restaurants around Shinmachi and Horie. The shrimp chili is unusual in that it contains okra, but this one was also delicious with its subtle and complex spices. Refills of rice are free, so I'm very satisfied with the quantity. This seems to be something we can expect from other menu items as well. I'm looking forward to it because there is even a serious Sichuan set meal with pieces of boiled meat.
The "Nakamuraya Special Set Meal", where you can eat both the popular Szechuan mapo tofu and chili shrimp, is a great value as it comes with an appetizer, rice soup, and dessert. The popular mapo tofu is authentic Sichuan mapo tofu, and the spiciness is really good. The firmness of the tofu, the spiciness of the chili peppers, and the numbness of the hanasansho pepper are well balanced. I can't help but put it on top of white rice w Shrimp of shrimp chilli didn't feel like it was without clothes, but it was crispy and delicious! It has a nice acidity and spiciness. The direction of spiciness is different from mapo, so it might be a good balance to eat as a set. The spiciness was "normal" and it was just right for people who don't like spicy food. The level of the appetizer Jinhua ham and egg soup is also high. It's also great that you get free refills of rice and soup. There are 3 parking spaces in front of the store. There is also a coin parking next door.
I have eaten many mapo tofu, but this is the top level. Above all, this quality is the strongest with free refills of rice soup for 800 yen. There is no line even during lunch hours. It feels stupid to line up with high prices such as chi ◯ lotus and ◯ il.
