The place is located inside a niebghorhoo, so you have to walk a bit from the main road. I ordered the 5500 yen Unagi course. I am really greatful to experience such an authentic food in a very authentic and lively atmosphere. All what you have to do when arriving is to write your name in the waiting list(better to search how to write your name in Japanese) then wait until your name is called. You don't get to choose where to sit, so I was lucky to sit on the bar because it gives you the opportunity to watch the cooks at work. The course starts with appetizers and side dishes. The main course was unagi on top of rice with (ochazuke set). The meal ended with Warami Mochi as a dessert. It was quite the experience. I Highly recommend this place for eel lovers. P.s: they have English menu, so just ask if you can't read Japanese.

This is the first time I've tried fresh unagi made on the spot. And it was mind blowing how good the unagi here is. When you first step in you immediately notice the charcoal smell and right away realize something good is happening. The meal isn't cheap but it will be memorable. The unagi is layered with a not too sweet teriyaki sauce. So good.

I was brought here by a guy I happened to meet while drinking, and I'm glad he did. There are a few food experiences you need to have in Japan, such as eating Ohma Tuna or Kobe beef. This is another one of those. If you like Unagi (eel) this has some of the best I've ever had. This isn't too surprising as, if I understood correctly, this is all locally caught Unagi, not import or other kinds of eel. Unfortunately, as with Ohma Tuna or Kobe beef, that also means it's expensive. Now, I know authentic fresh Unagi is expensive, but there was still a bit of sticker-shock when we had 4 dishes and a couple drinks and it came out to about $150. Yikes! Still, totally worth it as a one-off experience or a special occasion (or if someone else is paying).
