Family-run. Excellent food with no short cuts taken as to ingredients or preparation; warm and friendly staff. Prices reasonable. Have eaten there twice in the last week and can highly recommend it.

Benge Sichuan Mapo

As the store name suggests, you can enjoy true happiness with Sichuan mapo tofu. I had the mapo tofu set meal for lunch. For mapo tofu, you can choose from 1 to 3 levels of spiciness and numbness. The spiciness is the amount of chili pepper, and the numbness is the amount of sansho pepper. I chose 1 because I am not very sensitive to spiciness. For numbness, I chose 2 because I like Japanese pepper. In my case, if the spiciness is too strong, the inside of my mouth will be numb and I will not be able to taste it, so I chose less of each. The rating is 5 stars. Even if it says mapo tofu, there are various differences depending on the shop, but besides the spiciness and numbness, the tofu was delicious, and it felt good to eat rice while eating mapo tofu. It was a moment when I really felt happiness with mapo tofu. It was also nice to be able to choose the level of spiciness and numbness. I'll be back!
