Kyoto, Japan｜Arashiyama Itsukichaya

D E L I C I O U S! A set menu of 6 items (with some flexibility for non shrimp-eaters), varied and each serving a super surprise. Loved the rice with egg (golden egg bowl), the light tempura and the wagyu beef sukiyaki (mind blowing!). The ambiance is lovely with delicate separations between people and great view on the river (at least on one side). Service is excellent. Happy choice notwithstanding that it was a bit pricey. Beast book in advance.

The food was good! I honestly felt it was fun to be able to eat 5 different types of dons. You're bound to not get tired of any of the food that's served. We went here on a weekday for one of the last bookings and booked our table about 2 weeks in advance for the river side view. The restaurant was quiet, and not too busy, there were tables filling the riverside seats before us, but the rest of the restaurant was empty. Everything was beautifully presented and my friend and I enjoyed the experience overlooking the river as the sun set after a long day of travelling. We really enjoyed our experience here and I would return or recommend friends to go. :) I removed some stars because the english menu is not terribly accurate with what was served. Like what someone else had mentioned, there was mention of Conger Eel for one of the rice bowls, but that was substituted with Salmon.

The food was delicious if you're a fan of fish cuisine. The staff was polite and very generous with giving information about the beautiful places in Tokyo. Combined with the stunning view on the River, this experience is a 10/10. I would recommend everyone who likes fish to make a reservation here.
