Amazing food, excellent value, definitely recommend to all my friends visiting kyoto 1000/10. If you're from the states and you're reading this then that's your sign to come. There are online reservations but just come around like 10-11 and pick up a ticket (tickets are handed out at 9:30, got mine at 9:15 out of pity). I recommend the steak over the hamburg.

Great for lunch and meat lovers … you can basically choose from 3 meals (bowl, separate ingredients or patty). This place is a 5 star review for a casual lunch place … it’s nothing super special, but very solid and tasty. Be aware of wait times during the peak hours (12-13:30) it’s much less busy form 13:30 onwards. Prices range from ¥1200-1500 p.person (you can always add more of course). We didn’t try the patty, which looks great and we would definitely try it another time - which means also, yes it’s recommended for lunch and it’s a definite come back place.

A small but fantastic restaurant outside the main turistic areas. There's no great choice, but the food really is great and a real treat for meat-lovers. The shop is small and they accept only a limited number of customers, reservations are available only on very day you plan to go (open only at lunch) and can be made by showing up at the place starting from 9:30. Be quick cause they sell really fast!
