Otsu, Shiga, Japan｜En Unagi

Me and my husband went to eat here in october of 2023 and we ordered the “hitsumabushi” and it was the best eel we’ve ever had. it was crispy and packed with flavour. the rice underneath it was deliciously coated with the amazing sauce. we’ll definitely eat here again if were in town. 5/5

Visited 2023.07. The paris and grilled eel were delicious. Unagi Nishikiju with dashi rolls was also delicious. It did not seem to be offered as a single item of soup stock (not on the menu) (there was a roll). If you want to eat dashi rolls, you can choose eel nishikiju, but it seems that it is only 300 yen (+ tax) more than regular unaju, so it is cheap enough. I just want to eat one eel and a dashi roll. The opening hours on the website are from 11:00 on weekdays, but it seems that the actual opening hours are from 11:30 on weekdays. I'm glad the parking lot was already open. As soon as the store opens, there are several groups of customers visiting the store, so it seems best to visit just after the store opens.

A really delicious eel restaurant in Ogoto, Otsu City. It is a shop where you can be satisfied if you want to come again. The grill is crispy and the skin is especially crispy. The sauce isn't too sweet, and the soy sauce isn't spicy, so it's the best! Exquisite! It enhances the deliciousness of eel and white rice. The rolls are large and plump and very soft and chewy. This is my personal impression, but I think it is one of the top restaurants in Shiga.
