More Comments at Google MapI've been to several other Shinpuku Saikan stores, including Takabashi's, but I like this one the most. When I worked nearby, I went there almost every week. Although it doesn't feel as rich as it looks, the slightly thick noodles go well with the fragrant soy sauce soup. The fried rice, which tastes like a relative of the soup, is also great. Even after moving here, I still go there occasionally to eat on the expressway.
I went there to eat on the way home from jogging. I'm a regular customer and have been going to the main store in Kyoto Station for a long time. This is Chinese noodles that I have a habit of eating about once a month. It was my first time at the Kumiyama store, and I ordered chashu noodles. When you first visit, you may be surprised at how black the soup is, but when you eat it, it's not too spicy and you really like the aroma of the soy sauce. It's a char siu that you will get addicted to.
Shinpuku Saikan is a must-try when you come to Kyoto. This time I visited the Kumiyama store for the first time. Since it was a weekday, there weren't many customers, so I was able to eat slowly. The thinly sliced char siu is well-seasoned in a light chicken soy sauce-based soup that is hard to imagine considering it is black. The medium-thick straight noodles were a little hardened and were a satisfying dish. The popular menu item, the fried rice, has a darker appearance, and the rich seasoning goes well with the rice. A set of ramen and half fried rice is recommended. There seems to be a parking lot for about 3 cars in front of the store and a second parking lot behind it.
