Kyoto, Japan｜Yamashita Shozo (Yamasho-Ramen)

Pretty great ramen albeit it is quite salty as many others have mentioned. The salty and fatty broth does a great job sticking to the noodles and toppings for a tasty meal. The fried chicken was decent but wasnt as big as I expected. The place seems pretty popular as every seat was filled after only about 10 mins after opening. I was the first one seated by showing up 5 minutes before opening. By the time I left, it looked like there were already 6 or so groups waiting to be seated.

Ramen was really good, I got the special one, and the fried chicken was good but we forgot to order rice from the ticket vending machine, we still got full and were happy. There isn't much room in the restaurant so they have a sign that asks for you to not sit on your phone or have long conversations, once we left one of the employees came outside with us and gave an appreciative low bow.

Ordered a “Special Ramen” under the English menu and 2pc fried chicken set. Total was ¥1700 with tax. LOVED IT! I will be back before I leave Kyoto for sure! Highly recommended!
