Osaka, Japan｜Okonomiyaki Mitchan

Cozy spot with tourist-friendly crowd run by a sweet older couple who are cheerful and inviting. Not much English but hand gestures and Google Translate will get you by. The owner is a big baseball fan and will talk your ear off about the Tigers. He also assured me that this was the "number one restaurant in Japan," and I'm not inclined to disagree. Met some great folks at the counter and everyone seemed to be glad to have a foreigner wander in. Their specialty is the okonomiyaki and also some fried noodles they cook on the big counter right in front of you. The beer is cold and they make a nice highball as well. Fantastic slice of local flavor for travelers in this decidedly non-touristy local neighborhood.

A restaurant where you can enjoy the authentic taste of Osaka. There are a lot of toppings and it's quite filling. I often visit with friends and family, and it's fun to share the food with everyone. If you want to enjoy the traditional taste of Osaka, this restaurant is recommended.
