I go to Kizugawa about once a month for work reasons, but quite often I go there for the lunch set. There are three types of set meals: ABC. A set of two types of meat, rice, miso soup, and salad. The combination of meat changes depending on the day, but I end up ordering the menu that includes chicken skin every time. The chicken skin is very well prepared and is tender and juicy. I also like the fact that you can adjust the degree of baking to your liking. Of course, other meats are also carefully prepared. The amount of meat seems a bit small, but you get a large serving of rice for free, so that makes up for it. The restaurant is probably run by a husband and wife team, with the woman in charge of customer service and the man in charge of cooking. Both people provide very pleasant customer service. If it's not busy, just say "Gochisousama" and he'll pop out from the kitchen in the back and greet you with a nice smile. The store's appearance may seem a bit difficult to enter when it's your first time, but please get over that. If you live locally, this is the place you would want to go to for beer and yakitori at night.
