Uji, Kyoto, Japan｜Kisen Chaya

Lots of places have matcha soft serve ice cream, but Kisenchaya stands out because their’s come with the nice sweet cone (not the bland one) and a stick of Kyōto’s famous Yatsuhashi cinnamon “cookie”. The soft serve is also delicious and you can really taste the matcha! It costs a bit more than other places, but to me it’s well worth the price!

As Yuyu wrote, Kisen Chaya's matcha soft-serve ice cream is excellent. It is completely different from other shops. After lunch, I happened to see several young monks buying matcha soft-serve ice cream. I bought the same thing unintentionally 🎵 The green color of the soft serve ice cream is very dark, like real matcha, and the matcha sprinkled on top of it freezes on top of the cream, creating beautiful stripes. Yatsuhashi instead of a spoon is also smart and goes well with matcha soft ice cream 💕 It's not very sweet, but it's a gentle taste that's called matcha. I was surprised that it was much more delicious than Häagen-Dazs matcha. It's a little far from Omotesando, but it's worth stopping by ❣️ Please enjoy the matcha ice cream, which looks much nicer in real life than in the poster photo😉
