Kyoto, Japan｜和たり

We took a gamble despite knowing very little Japanese on the basis of other reviews and are very glad we did. With the help of Google translate we had a fantastic meal of sashimi, roast beef and sake and umeshu. Such a lovely night out.

Due to an unfortunate series of events upon our arrival in Kyoto, we found ourselves wandering the streets late at night searching for an open restaurant. After being turned away from several establishments, we stumbled upon Osake Wine Dining. It turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip. Although there was no english menu or pictures, the chef/owner made such an effort to understand what we wanted. Everything we were served was delicious and his sake recommendations were on point. The food alone would be a good enough reason for the 5 stars, but this kindness and hospitality are what set this place apart and made it a memorable meal. Thank you so much!

The most delicious menu we had on our trip. Because we can not read any japanese we asked the chef for some omakase (chef’s choice) and we were not disappointed. Some sashimi, wagyu beef, airy tempura, rootvegetables with fish in broth and the most scrumptious pork belly later we are almost dancing and singing because of all the flavours. Life is amazing, when you spend it at Osake Wine Dining.
