Kyoto, Japan｜Hafuu Shogoin

The course dinner was fantastic and the service was exceptional! I had the Hafuu course dinner and my husband had the Nikusenka course. While every dish was delicious, my husband’s favorite was the soup and wagyu sirloin steak. I liked snapper in sesame sauce, soup, the bread, filet steak, and especially the dessert. :). Really happy we came for dinner here while visiting Kyoto.

I found the fusion of steak and your typical Japanese teishoku interesting. All lunch meals served with rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles (tsukemono) salad and another Japanese side dish. We ordered the beef katsu (¥3000) and it was tender and medium rare. You’d have to wonder how amazing the wagyu version tastes since this was already delicious. Worth a try even if it’s not the most budget-friendly meal. The place has an interesting, old Spanish style house, woodsy feel.

Amazing food!! Their Wagyu Sirloin steak has spoiled me for life.. I dream of the succulent and delicious beef that I had at Hafuu.. Just mindblowing
