Otsu, Shiga, Japan｜KWC - kyon world curry -

Definitely another restaurant which deserves 6 stars if it were possible to give it! Let's start by saying that it was an incredibly welcoming and friendly, a warm experience from the service to the food! I've just spent a fair amount of time in Malaysia, and the curry I ordered here was at a level that would compete with dishes served out in Malaysia! I ordered the vegetable potato curry with tenderstem broccoli pakora and a strawberry lassi. The lassi was sweet and a little sour as you'd expect from lassi, a great accompaniment to the main dish. The curry itself was amazing, well spiced and was complemented by the variety of side dishes which helped to add additional flavour variation to the meal. Overall, the curry was what I'd describe as warm, you can feel the heat on your tongue but it doesn't make you sweat, a balance which allows you to fully appreciate the flavours of the curry. Its also appropriate for lunch where you probably don't want to continue the rest of your day post sweat. The tenderstem broccoli pakora was particularly delicious, soft broccoli with a lightly spiced and crispy batter. Tldr: if I ordered this at a mamak in Johor, I'd be happy with what I got. Combined with an atmosphere and decor which makes you feel at home, this is a shop you can visit time and time again. For those looking at this from kyoto, I'd come over just for this. They also have a rotating menu with variation in curries. If I was only here longer I'd have liked to try more! Oh, and I'd love it if one day some form of roti or chapati found its way on the menu!

I had a full serving (3 kinds of aigake). All the curries were very delicious, but among them, pumpkin curry, which I'm not very good at, was outstandingly delicious. Not only is it delicious when eaten alone, but it also has a high affinity when mixed with other curries and side dishes, making it a very satisfying lunch time. The store clerk's response is gentle and pleasant, so it's a shop that I definitely want to repeat.
