More Comments at Google MapFor better or worse, it is an old-fashioned roadside station. There are two stations in Katsuragi City, this one and Katsuragi Roadside Station, but this one does not have a food court, but instead has a friendly restaurant that sells konnyaku, Gohei mochi, pickled cucumbers, fried chicken, ice cream, etc. There are shops that do. I feel more relaxed here. We especially recommend the ``zenzai'', gohei mochi, and konnyaku. Takeout is also possible. In spring, there are surprisingly many swallows flying around, which is a lot of fun. Mt. Nijo is right in front of you, and the view is outstanding. Recommended for those who want to relax.
The parking lot became larger a few years ago, but it's usually full on Sundays and holidays. The store is small, but they sell local specialties, and the employees are friendly (^^) The surrounding scenery is nice and it feels good♪
The store is small, but they sell special products from this region of Nara, vegetables, flowers, sweets, and rice cakes. When you come to Nara, konnyaku is always sold! Warm konnyaku on a skewer! It has a gentle dashi flavor and is very delicious. The Taima area is famous for Chushomochi, which is sold at a long-established store near the station. Futakami Park, which is rich in nature, is located in the back, and Mt. Nijo ⛰ is behind it, making it a popular place for hiking. Chujohime's Taima-dera Temple is also nearby, and I think the surrounding area is an irresistible place for history buffs. Kawara soba, nerimono, kamameshi restaurants, pizzerias, and fruit cafes are also nearby. Takeuchi Kaido is also nearby.
