More Comments at Google MapLooking back on my time as a ryugakusei at Kansai Gaidai, this was one of the more memorable restaurants. The staff dealt with our rowdy group of foreigners like champions. We tended to go as a group for the all you can eat menu which included a few different types of meat for yakiniku and a variety of appetizers. If I remember correctly, it was $3500 yen for an hour and a half in 2014. Not sure if that is a current price. Students with no Japanese may want to avoid going alone, the majority of the menus were entirely in Japanese. I recommend making friends with Japanese students quickly to be able to go out and enjoy Japan to its fullest, or start with another international student who has an intermediate level of Japanese language ability. Pretty sure only the appetizer menu had photos of the items. Cash is the best option for payment at this store. 7-11 is not too distant if you need access to an ATM if the Kansai Gaidai one is closed. We always parked our bikes out the front on the sidewalk and had no issues with anyone tampering them.
As a Kansai Gaidai international Alumnus, this place has got to be my favorite Karaage place in all of Japan. Sure, there are probably other places with really good karaage, but I haven't been there yet. This place might be known for something else like yakiniku, but hands down, if I were to die, the karaage teishoku here would be my last meal, no joke. It has just the right texture, juiciness, and crispiness. The portions are absolutely huge, and the quality exceeds the price. After I left Japan, I haven't found a place like this. Great service, same great quality. Interior is spacious, and it also seems to be for yakiniku lol.
Lunch is very cheap. This time I ordered a large serving of cutlet curry. The taste was very rich and good. Next time I think I'll try the Yakiniku set meal. It's very attractive because you can enjoy authentic yakiniku from noon. postscript I ordered a Yakiniku set meal. I chose the skirt steak of the three types: loin, short ribs, and skirt steak. The price is about 1100 yen. I also asked for Tecchan. It was about 600 yen. For lunch, the cost performance is good and the taste is perfect.
