Mani-san, the Tamil chef who originally hails from Madurai, has an excellent career by working in the high profile restaurants & hotels in various states of South India and has proved a natural culinary skill. The dishes Mani-san and his Japanese buddies create are so aromatic in an authentic way and you’ll relish the cream of the cuisines from Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka. Bookings by phone highly recommended, since this place is much in demand!
Food is excellent. We ate here twice in 2 consecutive days. Wonderful staff, excellent service, best chef. Always make reservation to avoid any disappointment as it's a nice title restaurant and can accommodate very few people. I will truly miss their food back home in Aussie Land.
We ordered podi idli (yummmm so soft and perfectly spiced), raj kachori, mutton kari dosa (amazing !!!) for appetizers. For mains we had curd rice, ishtew (so creamy), fish curry of the day and bun paratha (flaky and so light). The dosas were amazing !!! Loved this little gem in Kyoto making authentic south indian food that would be great in any city - tokyo, new york !!! Kudos to this chef hailing from madurai and bringing that authenticity to Kyoto and to your japanese team - hospitality was top notch. Great place for a vegetarian and for meat eaters tooo and for a family with kids !!!
