Kyoto, Japan｜Mimikou - Kyoto Porta

Very nice ramen restaurant inside the Kyoto Station. I ordered the Beef Tofu Curry Udon which was pretty tasty. Ordering is quick and there's a good amount fo options on the menu. They have water available at each seating area that you can pour yourself. Depending on the time you may have to way a little in line but it's worth it.

It’s part of the Porta dining options in Kyoto station on the basement floor that connects to the subway and train lines. The place was open late (after 8pm) and it was packed, which is generally a good sign. The food did not disappoint. Great katsu. Tried the spam katsu, as it was an option on the menu and I had been curious to try that as spam is very popular in Japan. I wasn’t too convinced by the spam katsu - the taste is not very natural, it’s definitely for local palates. I also had a shrimp tempura udon which was excellent.

Very good! I highly recommend white curry udon!!
