Super busy but the queue was moving quickly. Limited seats although its a big coffee shop. Location in a beautiful area surrounded by many shrines and gardens to visit .
This may be the most beautiful coffee shop I've been to. It's a situated in a traditional wooden Kyoto townhouse ("kyomachiya") that has been renovated and given a sleek, modern and minimalist design. It's a real pleasure relaxing here for a bit after sightseeing. The drink menu is as in all Blue Bottle cafés. Regarding both pour-over and espresso, you can choose between a blend and a (pricier) single origin. When I visited, the latter was an anaerobic natural coffee from Indonesia, which I think is best suited for espresso. The food menu offers cakes, pastries, granola and waffles (I don't know whether the last two are available all day or only during brunch hours).
