More Comments at Google MapCharming tea shop specializing in sencha (a type of green tea). The interior is full of tasteful furniture and has lovely reed (not paper) sliding doors to let the air ventilate to cool the premises. The staff are extremely courteous. The lady who made my tea seemed to be an expert in the arts of the tea ceremony. It was wonderful to see how serious she was in carefully carrying out the moves of the ceremony. It was like gentle poetry in motion. The sencha was delicious. It was accompanied by a sumptuous wagasahi sweet, matcha ice cream, assorted sweets, and some picked soy beans (which burst with taste and flavour in my mouth). All of these perfectly complemented the tea. My visit was a wonderful, calm, and peaceful cultural experience, steeped in tradition.
Excellent place with extremely professional and kind owner. You will enjoy a cup of tea in a traditional way. The owner prepares the first tea, and then you are welcome to prepare additional one if you want. Really nice to stop here, slow down and have a relaxing cup of tea.
Excellent quality and a very authentic experience of Japanese culture. The shop proprietor grows his own tea at a small offsite tea farm. I now understand how all kinds of Japanese tea are grown and processed.
