Quick Facts: - tea, coffee, beer, sake and parfaits - free wi-fi - washrooms - clean, calm, nice music - blink and you will miss the entrance I find myself in Kyoto on an utterly dreary, rainy day that renders a traveller soaked after minute two exiting to the outdoors rain gear or not. I have work to do but have grown tired of sitting in my hotel room and need to move my body. Happily for me, several steps outside my hotel (as I quickly realized I was about to get drenched) I found Page One by total happenstance. The truth is, the tiny, narrow, lit walkway to their front door was so intriguing I just ducked in to see what it was. What a pleasant surprise to find that inside lay a lovely interior and a friendly staff that happily served up excellent coffee, tea and a green tea parfait that was both imaginative and delicious. I decided to write this review because if you are English speaking, you will easily miss this place but I highly recommend it as a place to relax for a moment, enjoy some beautifully served food/drink and just breathe. The staff informed me that they had just opened so hopefully this review and others will help them experience success in their new venture!

Don’t miss this gem if you’re in Kyoto. Matcha shaved ice served in an ice bowl with red bean paste. Trust me. Just go!

Quiet cafe that offers regular food and coffee, and also kakigori (shaved ice). It is a light and refreshing snack. Some flavors of kakigori include lemon, matcha, orange, and strawberry.
