Kyoto, Japan｜Sagano-yu

This place is one of my favorite restaurants we ever visited in Japan. Apart from the absolutely delicious foods we had, I am blown away by the history and architecture. I love their intention behind preserving this old bathhouse and incorporating it into the design and aesthetic of the restaurant. It is so beautiful and rich. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around the restaurant and basking in all of its glory. The servers were attentive and kind. The food was delicious. The atmosphere is priceless. There’s something to say about incorporating old architecture and elements into new design, and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to admire their work.

The lemon pasta is so good. The savoury yuzu cookie that serve together with the drinks is so excellent. Green tea pancake is great too.

I've been here more than a couple of times, both in autumn and summer. The menu is absolutely good, and the effort in having different drinks according to the season is amazing. I know it is normal in Japan, but I appreciated this place for its variety and delicious ingredients. The Cafe is amazing as well, and it is really nice to stop by and enjoy it along with the food.
