Kyoto, Japan｜Soba Tatsuichi

If you are going to Nijo Castle, come hungry and come here first. This was the best meal I had in Japan! Perfectly cooked cold soba noodles with delicately fried tempura and soba ice cream and soba tea. A soba dream come true! The chef was funny and hospitable, showed us the beautiful rock garden in the middle of the restaurant. We bought three bags of buckwheat tea to go too. Hoping I can make it as good as they did here! Absolutely loved it. Will be back the next time we are in Kyoto. Also service was fast and ordering was easy using their online QR code system with English menus.

I'm a tourist and I had a lovely lunch there today. Photo of my bill attached. I had the hot soba with duck slices, a youba tofu and an umeshu soda drink. All delicious. Definitely recommended.

Delicious soba noodles and tempura. It’s a small staff, but they’re kind and accommodating. Be patient and enjoy!
