We walked along the streets looking for something away from the usual touristy restaurants. Saw this place, the store front wasn't impressive. My son's motto was that if they don't too spend time or attention to the deco the food should be good! And he was right. Order from a vending machine, there are two machines, one with pictures. If you aren't familiar with the local food, use the one with pictures. They offer so many varieties. Udon was yummy, unpretentious. Just good, honest food. The place was popular with the locals. Highly recommended if you're not fussy with your seat or the ambience. I gave the restaurant a 5* for atmosphere cos the place feed the community and people are here for good food. The good food people.

Great hole in the wall place for udon and tempura! Fast service streamlined by the vending machine outside. Just put some coins in and select the number you want. The machine will spit out a ticket and you show the ticket to the guy inside. There is an English menu chart on the wall (picture below). Vegetarian options including kitsune udon and veggie tempura.

The taste is salty, but very delicious, very cost-effective and very cheap. Two people each ordered a bowl of udon, RMB57
