The taste was amazing, even though it's quite expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The staff speaks enough English to effectively communicate, which is great. There is also an English menu. It looks a bit bleak inside, but that's up to personal taste, I suppose, and doesn't take away from the experience. If you have money to spend, this is a great way to do it.

Amazing Unagi. I had the local variety and the taste was soft, smoky and flavourful. Perfect experience with a beer. Must try in Kyoto! Recommend to choose the special if you want to be full and the price of 4800 Yen is really good.

We ordered 2 sets of Issogo unagi, one with sauce, the other one without sauce. Amazing food and Sake! Much appreciated the cold tea served during this hot day.
