Tsu, Mie, Japan｜Unafuji

Didn’t realise the queue is usually mad crazy for this place. We got there at 1pm on a windy extra cold thursday and there were 3 free tables. A few minutes after us the two other tables got filled up almost right away. Ordered the biggest unagidon and thought it was a little too much for me, I felt bad I couldn’t finish the rice. The soup was nice too. Overall good quality unagi at very reasonable price! It usually costs us double for this size. Also friendly and fast service! If anything we think the toilet could use a little upgrading.

I did a take out for 2 sets of 6pc unagi. There are no nasty smell. No chewy skin. Sauce is rich and way better than the one you get from supermarket. I’ll go again next time I come back home. Plastic bag could be unnecessary and the also container uses some plastic too.

Arrived at 8:30am on Sunday. There were already about 5 groups lined up in front of me. The store opens at 11:00, but on this day there were over 50 people in line after 10:00. Perhaps due to the store's consideration, I was able to put it inside at 10:15. Especially a large serving of rice. I also ordered the eel liver. There was a limited supply of eel liver, so we went with 6 people, but we were asked to just have one plate. I think there were about 10 pieces of eel liver. I shared it with 6 people. The eel was fluffy on the outside and inside, and was delicious till the end.
