Delicious set meal we reserved in advanced. The beef was fantastic and worth every penny. Every course out of the 7 or so total was unique and memorable. The staff were good and knew enough English to help us out when we didn't know the right words. The chef was enjoyable to watch, he kept an eye on every table and had the courses paced perfectly. All around a great experience!

at first it is kind of hard to find as a foreigner, there was no english signs and it is in a narrow alleyway. as you follow google maps, you will find a place that has a basement. go under it. eat near bar/kitchen to see flames and cooking from chef. we did the 6 course for 8800 per person. see photos listed in review. light starter with caviar, tuna, lobster, clam/scallops?, SIRLOIN waygu, dessert (forgot to post pic) waygu has its usual nutty flavor and it melts in your mouth. you can see chef prepare it as it cooks in flames and he cuts off the excess fat. at the end you are left satisfied. great waygu, great price. i would recommend anyone looking for a good steak in Kyoto to visit this place first. edit: went a second time. the sirloin is THE best steak you will ever have.

This is a little gem of a restusrant. We were lucky enough to get the seats in front of the Chef and watch him in action. We got the set menu which we thought was a great value. Everything was prepared perfectly and it was absolutely DELICIOUS / OISHI. Would definitely come back.
