Kobe, Hyogo, Japan｜Karupi-Don

Food is delicious and portion sizes are generous. I got used to the small Japanese portions and foolishly ordered 2 dishes not knowing what I was getting into. The thin sliced kalbi and the unagi were both very good. The miso soup was light but very flavorful at the same time. Includes a self-checkout machine that issues you a ticket, but it is only in Japanese, so have Google Translate ready. The owner was very nice and spoke decent English.

A locals secret dining spot. They have a wonderful BBQ sauce. A fruity, sweet, flavor perfectly balanced for your meal. A few variations of the sauce is presented for the fussiest of tastes. I recommend you try them all to find your perfect one. A must visit, for your trip to Kobe.

Very good beef bowls with an amazing sauce! good quality and generous beef slices. Would definitely be coming back on my next trip to Kobe!
