More Comments at Google MapKansai and Shikoku udon are good, but I like kishimen so much that when I go to Nagoya, I always have one meal. I knew about the existence of Hoshigaoka Noodles and its high reputation, but I couldn't go because the timing wasn't right. After reading a recent popular article by a beloved blogger, I decided to go and visit. I ordered a cold red fox (300g) served by two friendly staff. The cold dashi has a refreshing coldness, and you can really feel the flavor of the dashi. Most of all, I was impressed by how the kishimen noodles, which are wider than the noodles served at other restaurants in Osaka, go down smoothly. I don't know of any other store that serves kishimen noodles that go down as smoothly as this one. There is an unlimited number of balls on the table, so I put a little. While swallowing the noodles one by one, you can enjoy both the graininess of the Tentama and the smoothness of the noodles. It was half, but I finished eating and was satisfied. As others have written, I think that if you have kishimen separately, you will have more freedom in combining individual tempura. Also, I thought that the weekday-only set would be the strongest if there were holidays.
You might be addicted to kishimen. I was indecisive and didn't have any photos, so I had a hard time deciding, but I ordered the Taimon cold and was surprised at how pleasant the texture was and how it felt down my throat. When I asked if I could order nothing (kake soba?), I was told that I could, so I ordered a second bowl of something warm lol.
A rare kishimen shop in Osaka. If possible, it would be best if you had flower bonito. I had a set meal of chicken tempura, and my wife and daughter had a set meal of tempura and curry. It's a small shop with a counter and two tables, but it's cute and stylish. There is also an izakaya menu available for lunch.
